What is the current price of OM-D in Bangalore/India? Is there room for bargaining? After seeing how good the system is, I am now more and more tempted to get OM-D. Just can't get it out of my head. Haven't made up mind completely though yet.

I don't think there's any chance of bargaining/negotiating on the price yet :(. I'll probably try and get it from US though as silver one is not available here. BTW, welcome to the system ;).

I think it's still around 58-59k here. Haven't checked with Jayesh though.

good, lean and mean street machine.
wonder how it will stack up vis-a-vis a fuji-x-pro-1 w/18mm f/2 or a nex7 w/e-16mm f/2.8 pancake for street photography ...

So far, it looks very very good. And here's the surprise, the sensor was made by sony this time around :). Panasonic is not giving their best sensors to Olympus, so they went with sony and so far it's performing really really well. The IBIS crazy, have been seeing sharp shots handheld at 1/4th of a second!

I think Steve Huff did a comparison of the cameras, don't have the link handy though. Fuji X-Pro1 handles like a dream, haven't had a chance to try the OM-D yet.

Bhooshan, a fellow member here at JJMPF has it. I am yet to meet him and see how the OM-D handles :). So far, I love the IQ from this gem.

@hellwrath: i use an antique zeiss ikon contaklex 1 with a fixed 45mm/2.8 lens and synchro-compur leaf shutter for street. usually loaded with tri-x. the old fashioned way. scanned neg gives me better iq than all the others we are talking about :) ... but i am tempted.

I have shot with Tri-X just once and I'll admit it is very very good. But, the unavailability and rising prices makes Tri-X not that feasible an option right now :(.

Went along with a friend who got his silver OM-D from Jayesh today. Too bad, he had only one silver body :(. But, I loved the camera, it feels so good and you'd skip a heart beat when you see it in silver. FYI, he does have to two black OM-Ds in stock. Hopefully, I'll get a silver one the next time he gets a shipment from Olympus.

Man, you shouldn't have seen it. Now you'll have to buy it :)
BTW, how much is body only?

I think he's got two prices (not too sure, but seemed like it) for it. One price for black and the other for silver. He said he could give the silver one for 62k.

It's available for 58.5k on ebay India. Note sure if it's same for silver and black.

Oh that Oly OM D is a real cupcake and I am so tempted to bite! I love that retro look (reminds me of the cameras from my childhood in the 1970s/80s)..black or white doesn't matter. And the best part it is better priced than the Fuji X Pro

Having sunk my self deep into the Nikon pit, what will my wife think? I will be shot! ;D

PS - I fell for the Oly even though the AF is not exactly good.

To be honest, I think Oly AF is much much better than the one on X-Pro1. I just hope the AF on X-Pro1 improves with future firmware updates like it did on the X100.
