The videos posted in the link in 1st post seem to affirm this view as in both videos the body cap or the lens cap is on. So perhaps the issue might affect only those who like to shoot with one of these caps on.

Does this matter in the real world?
For the moment, I’m not sure. I haven’t noticed any issues with metering on the 2000 or so shots I’ve put through the 5D Mark III. I’m sure we’ll know more in the coming days.
Mk III, Some lenses. Couple of flashes and a 1.4x TC.

Sowmya,
I dont have the camera now :( ,i had rented it 2 weeks back from Toehold :).We can request Dr Krishi  or Apacheebest to take some long exposure shots :)

In normal shooting conditions & low light the camera behaved normally :), but i didnt try  long exposures  >:(  so cant comment how the camera will perform :'(
I have 4 friends with me, who have purchased 5D mark III. None of us are worried about this light leak even though the experiments suggest that it affects our cameras. I see the panic is from Non-5D Mark III owners. You have to search photographers who loves to photograph  the backside of the lens cap, as these are the only one's who are affected with this issue. Don't spread panic.
