@Praveen : Just curious whether you have changed the color tone manually or the landscape itself was such blue?

Love the second shot. I wonder if we get those amazon buddies here?

Thanks Veeresh.
AFAIK, Danbo has no distributor in India. But you can buy them from eBay. I made it myself following some schematic available in internet.

Here is one shot with Hoya 135mm f2.8.

The light was too harsh and hence did some post processing after the shot. Here is the scene almost untouched @ wide angle and the second is the zoomed one.

Don't generally use MF lenses but had a Rokinon 85mm f1.4 for quite some time. I swapped it for an AF lens but its IQ is better than the Minolta 85mm f1.4 that has replaced it.

This is one shot that I got by pure fluke ! :P

Wow!! That is just beautiful!! I'm vacillating furiously between 85 1.8; 85 1.4 (Siggy, not Nikon); no need for 85 you've got 105 AFS VR - keeps changing on a daily basis ..... sigh!!

OK one more from me
Vivitar 70-150mm f/3.8 from Kiron
<< Close-up lens.
Excellent little beauty and surprisingly as sharp as my sensor can distinguish closed down half a stop (ok perhaps not that surprising from a lens made by Kino). Wide open it's lovely for portraits.

I didn't use it for close-ups or for portraits - I use it for landscapes

Hey Vikram, I was in the same boat. I had the Tamron 90mm f2.8 and I quite liked the bokeh of the Tamron to boot so I was against getting a 85mm f1.4 lens.

However after taking a few test shots from the Rokinon I knew I had to keep it. :P

The bokeh is just so smooth and buttery that I spent 4 times the cost of the Rokinon just to get a slightly worse performing 85mm f1.4 lens. :(

I think you could stick with the f1.8 version but IMO just try out a f1.4 version and you wouldn't wish to compromise. :)

Beautiful photo btw though I did see that you had posted it in the IR thread that was going on recently.

Thanks for starting this thread. Its a great initiative. I came to know about these lenses in the beginning of last year. And I've hooked on to it every since. Since then I've spent a small fortune to build a small collection.

All the photos are amazing on these pages, I cant single out any particular one. The mood and the feel that these lenses bring out is amazing. To mention it, I really liked the Takumar 1,4/50mm shots. Lovely lens.

Attaching a few of mine. All wide open.

1. Contax Carl Zeiss 1,4/35

2. Contax Carl Zeiss 1,4/35 - I like how the lens makes the log pop out.

Hmm, I changed the BBcode a bit to get this right. Usually copy-pasting directly from Flickr's share option works. But not in this case, not sure why.
Its ok now, got it working.

Off topic, I had an account with JJMPF a few years ago. But, I had a period of discontinuity in between. Not sure if they deleted the account during that time. So I had to create a new one.
(verification is bit of a pain, though  :P)

I envy you for the lenses you have :D. The second one surely does have the Zeiss 3-D pop/rendering :).

Hmm. Thanks, Veeresh. Yes, the 35mm did cost me a small stack. But, the 50mm is a little easy on the wallet. I got a used one in decent condition for under $150.
I love that lens for the portraits it has drawn for me.

Here are a few more from the same lenses. Hope I'm not being monotonous...

Looks like this thread is drying up. So I'll add a few more to get the thread going...
Lets see some more manual action.

1. Zeiss 2/100 Makro Planar @2.0 (rented for a week) Possibly the sharpest lens I've ever used. This makes a great landscape lens as well. I will try and post some landscape photos later.

Keep them coming Manoj :). I almost wanted to ask you for your address but then I read that you had rented the 100MP, so no plans of looting your place yet :P.
