Two flowers

Hi,

Two flowers from the Theosophical Society Gardens. D700 + Tamron Macro 180mm f/3.5. All critiques are welcome.

1. Gangetic Primrose

 

2. Unidentified : I have not been able to ID this flower. All helps to provide the ID would be appreciated. The “quirky” processing is intentional

Ashim, Lovely exposure on the 1st one. But, those stems in the OOF BG are kind of distracting to me. Would like to see some other compositions of it.

2nd works very well, infact, the vignetting effect is nice and the BG colour goes well with the flower.

Do you happen to use both C & N?

very beautiful shots Ashim, Loved the first one more.

In second, the muted colors don't appealed to me(its only me). Background colour is not supporting that white flower fully.

First one, the colors have come out superbly whereas in the second one, the composition is awesome...

Hi all, Thanks for liking and your detailed feedback. I thought the OOF buds and branches serve as an anchor as long as they are not distracting and so kept them in the frame.

good work ashim...i liked the second pic a lot..liked the composition and subtle shades...the only thing i can think of which could've been done differently in that one is perhaps shooting it in the shade...
