Post processing in IR Photography...
« on: July 07, 2012, 12:44:34 AM »
I am requesting friends here to throw some light in IR photography and its PP techniques.
I have tried few shots, but experiencing increased level of noise. I would request Vikram to pl help and guide. I am attaching two images unprocessed and processed one.
I used Nikon D7000, Sigma17-50 mm F2.8 lens and Hoya R72 mm IR filter, ISO 200, Shutter speed 10 sec and F 8.
Regards
Sanjay

Hi Sanjay - there's a thread on this started by either theqca or G2 .... in any case - you seem to have got the results so not sure which aspects you asked me to comment on? Now it's just a matter of searching for that right composition.

Thanks Vikram....!
Actually I am not able to get right colours for B&W image its OK, but problem starts when I want to keep Colours. On swapping Channels, image becomes bluish and looks unnatural.

From my little experience I can say that getting it right in cam saves a lot of headaches in pp. Use custom WB and avoid buildings as these two reflect a lot of IR light and overshadow the trees.
Mk III, Some lenses. Couple of flashes and a 1.4x TC.
