Whoops, wish Nikon hasn't increased the prices. Now because of this Canon might not reduced the price of that overpriced Mk III.. Really bad time.

Just got D800 from Nikon SLR Zone for INR 155200. It was May 2012 Import. They guy said that Nikon may again increase price in next import shipment if the ruppe goes further down.

Who said so? They are kicking up the finance minister to the position of President to deal with the grave financial consequences of such act. Hasn't he already taught Vodafone a lesson?

There is nothing the Govt can do in the short term. Good Policies are needed and even if enacted now, it will take time to bear fruit.

Nikon has further increased the price of D800. The new price is 169,950.
Looks like my first full frame camera won't be a D800.
OT: What is the current price of a new D700? One seller in Delhi quoted me 111K with bill and warranty. Gaffarbhai had quoted 110K without bill.

Not entirely surprising as the INR has dropped by ~24% over the past year. Nikon India's CEO was cautioning on price increases during the launch of the D3200.

Just wondering, is D800 left AF issue resolved? I was really looking forward to D800 and this article has really put me off.

If you also read comments there, photographers who purchased from India also faced the issues with D800 AF.

From what I heard from a friend who went to buy a new D700 this past weekend, the D700 prices have gone up too (128k with bill in Blore). So those two prices seem really good (especially the one with bill and warranty).

I have two Nikon D800s and have found no such Issue with them.
