Sony A65 priced 50k in india
« on: June 15, 2012, 03:30:14 PM »
Sony A65 is available in india for 51k with 3 years warranty. considering the exchange its  better to buy in india(cheaper than buying from b&h), compared to any other cams like A33 or A55 or A37 or A57.

Ah good, they decreased the price from the launch price of 59k. But I still won't recommend them to anyone coz their lens availability is as bad as before.

Sony has quite a few cheap but great lenses like the 50mm f1.8, 35mm f1.8, 85mm f2.8 and 16-50mm f2.8.

However aside from the 50mm f1.8 the others aren't available. Also 3rd party lenses are also not available. Unless someone knows what he is getting into its not a good option at all.

The advantage is that you get some really good deals in India. Someone is selling a Tamron 200-500mm lens for 25k, a 30mm f1.4 for 10k and a Tamron 10-24mm for 15k posted just yesterday and no one has even expressed interest ! I am having a very hard time to pass up the Tamron 200-500mm (since optically its better than the Sigma 150-500mm and will have IS thanks to the Sony body stabilization) but I seriously doubt I will find time to do justice to that lens while staying in a concrete jungle like Mumbai. :(

Ah good, they decreased the price from the launch price of 59k. But I still won't recommend them to anyone coz their lens availability is as bad as before.
Brendon keeps in dissuading people from buying his favourite brand. This keeps the resale value of used lenses down and he picks up what he needs at good prices ;) :D
