The fisherman's silhouette | Western reef egret
« on: June 25, 2012, 10:41:56 AM »
After a pretty productive session at the location with some good setting evening light. we ran to the other side of the lake to get some silhouettes with the evening hues forming the backdrop.

Was hoping to catch the splash(es) as this egret went about hunting, but these hardly make a splash.

Canon 500D, Sigma 150-500, ISO 800, f8, 1/1600, Evaluative metering

C&C sought :)

Cheers,
Hayath

Thank you Vignesh and Vimal!

Vimal,
Let me give it another try with your suggestions to see how it looks. I was going for the subtle colors

Nice shot. I also agree with Vimal about boosting contrast a bit.

Mostly, The warmer hues of sun look good for such shots. But, Hey, I like this tone and with that fish in its beak, it makes it even better. :)

Thanks both :)

Omkar,
Yes the fish is what adds to the frame IMHO. And left out a bit of whites in the shadows to leave a hint on the bird species
