I'll forgive you the first photograph if you tell me how you captured #4  ;D

I'm sorry, but you could add another dozen brilliant pics and you wouldn't be able to top #4 in my eyes - it's unexpected, it's fresh, it's got perfect colour combo in blue and orange, and ... well, I kinda like it a lot!

#1 - scary (but nice - I like strobist experiments outdoors)
#2 - another strobist experiment - I've got a trick to try here which involves gelling the flash, switching the WB and dropping the exposure by about 1.5 stops to get the background a little blue and darker ... but that's a different shot. In this one I couldn't figure the reason behind the rear flash (apart from the obvious of lighting the other side).
#3 - This is nice, about 10 more flaps of the wing might have been nicer.
#4 - I think you might have guessed that I like it  :)
#5 - I think he needs to be shot from a lower angle to increase the sense of vastness, but this one shows it really well too.
#6 - someone tell Amul that a few tankers have crashed! I like it, but not sombre enough for my personal taste. Also the dof isn't deep enough to have got the first two large rocks sharp (from the third rock - not Earth - it seems to get sharper).

Nice series Jeetu
Hmm Good to know and see Brendon in his own self - with so many names of him!
like 2, 4, 6 one . The flash work in 2 is really good. Off camera??
4 wondering how far was your camera from wave?
6 Agree with Vikram and Soumya but still its a good one. Just decrease a little exposure please.

Amazing series.

#1 Nice processing
#2 Liked the lighting a lot.
#4 is very much appealing.

I can't afford 'Braindon' for any of my model shoot. He is in demand now and charges 'Premium' Rates  ;D

Lights, cameras, glass, empty wallet.

Thankyou all for the kind words :)

I'll forgive you the first photograph if you tell me how you captured #4  ;D
Firstly thanks you fr the detailed feedback.

No. 4 was shot on one of our evening walks, Brendon and me decided to carry only the cam and one lens (no tripod, filter, ect) I went with the Tokina 35mm (its a 1:1 macro lens with very close focusing ability) We went to the shore line and the tide was coming in, the wave splashes on the rocks looked interesting so took a few shots, nothing special in terms of technique, shot at ISO 400 f2.8 and 1/800. A lil dodging in post.

#1 - scary (but nice - I like strobist experiments outdoors)
I like taking close-ups with super wides, love the distortion and if my fellow subject can give me decent (read weird) expression then great :) Infact working on a series of these but not everyone is willing to pose (Thankyou Brendon ;D)

Quote from: VikramF
#2 - another strobist experiment - I've got a trick to try here which involves gelling the flash, switching the WB and dropping the exposure by about 1.5 stops to get the background a little blue and darker ... but that's a different shot. In this one I couldn't figure the reason behind the rear flash (apart from the obvious of lighting the other side).
I know what you are saying abt gelling the flash but unfortunately I don't own gels as yet :(
The rear flash was just to add some rim light to give separation from the background and for effect.

#3 - This is nice, about 10 more flaps of the wing might have been nicer.
Agreed, the crow just happened to fly by when I was composing, as soon as I saw it pressed the shutter.

#5 - I think he needs to be shot from a lower angle to increase the sense of vastness, but this one shows it really well too.
I guess i could have gone down by a few feet, again was carrying only the 85mm and was right till the waters edge.

#6 - someone tell Amul that a few tankers have crashed! I like it, but not sombre enough for my personal taste. Also the dof isn't deep enough to have got the first two large rocks sharp (from the third rock - not Earth - it seems to get sharper).
Hmm, I'll try and pp is again to make it more moody.

As usual Brendon rocks.... :)
He sure does :)

Thanks Rishi.
Yup 2 flashes for no.2, one behind (bare) and second camera left via shoot-through umbrella.
I was about 2-3feet from the wave.
Yup, will do.

4th for me all the way. The moment I saw it was a ****!!! That's a great one. Wish I had shot it ;)
Thanks doc :)

Ooh, lovely stuff Jeetu.

Braindon looks good in both shots :). Strobes have been used well and I like your processing in the first one :).

The rest of the seascapes are good but like everyone else, 4th one is amazingly good. Well done.

Enjoyable set this. Loved #4 :)

I thought Flash was used to light up just the foreground in a strobist manner (then read the dodging bit) - well that gives me an idea to try out :D

Hmmm .. thanks. For some reason I'd thought that you'd used a flash to freeze movement in #4 and for the life of me I couldn't figure out where it was positioned. Thanks for the explanation - sometimes we tend to over-complicate things  :-[
