Not uploaded Insects for long time. Posting few from recent trips. Pic. 2, 4 r not that sharp.


1. Robberfly with some fly catch.





2. Some kind of Baby grasshopper.






3. U can see his secret part clearly .

5.  Click beetle - they rotate their head and make click sound.

What was the set up you used for these?


7D, 5Dm2,100L ,580ex + 2 hands. It is impossible to shoot these type of tiny  insects in windy rainy season with tripod.
Canon Gear- 16-400L , Canon G12 , Brands Own -Benro (not good) , B+W ,  Cokin, Elinchrome,  Gitzo  , Hoya , Kenko, Kingston ,  Lowepro ,  Lexar , Manfrotto,Rogue ,Spyder , Tamrac (not good) , Vangaurd , Vello

thks doc , in all imgs i had spent time and done some adjustment  to get excellent BG. Since now my photography is maturating  , i feel u should spent few sec before clicking.

the only reason im not saying pic 4 is because id have liked to see the complete insect..but details and clarity are excellent..
