KEH reviews

Hello.
Since my gossen digipro doesn't do spot, I am looking for a spot meter. I usually get my stuff from Adorama and BHphotovideo. This time, I could not find any listing that matched my requirements. I looked at KEH and found a Sekonic L-488 in EX condition. Now I am in a dilemma. I saw a few reviews on the net where it was said that KEH does only cosmetic grading, and some times the items are sent back to KEH. They do replace items when there is a genuine flaw. However, returning an item is not an option for me.
I searched here, but could not locate one. So, I am left with KEH. Has anyone here purchased anything from KEH? Any experiences?

Purchased a lot of stuff from KEH. They don't do only cosmetic grading, they check that the items work before listing. If it's damaged during transit, they will replace like for like (if possible). If anything, I've found their grading to be overly pessimistic and an EX+ rated item looks and feels new. I haven't bought a LN item, but my mind boggles over what could be in better shape than EX+. An EX rated item might have a superficial mark.

In any case - you can contact them regarding a particular listing and reconfirm that it is in perfect working condition - they usually get back to you very, very quickly.

Did you pay customs for less than 100$ stuff. How is the delivery? I wished to order a few thing s but not sure of delivery to India. And the customs angle to it, i would not mind paying appropriate customs but the stuff should reach without problem

I get all my items from abroad through iccworld/shopabroad. Till now, they have provided excellent service. The item reaches you within two weeks. They take care of all  the customs related issues. As far as the 100$ mark is concerned, I have been charged customs for items less than 100$. A box of film rolls usually costs around 35$, and I have to pay customs for it every time a get a box.

I usually get my stuff shipped to the US and then bring it back/get it brought back.

Customs ... that's the biggest issue as it's a lottery.
