Dreaming with Feet
« on: July 10, 2012, 11:37:31 PM »
Hi All,

Dancing is like dreaming with your feet! ~ Constanze

Sharing some old shots, C&C welcome... All Shots are with Nikon D60 + 70-300mm VR handheld. This was shot during one of the regular dance recitals that happen in small theatres in many places in Bangalore. Hence the stage is neither a decorated one, nor there are any great lights. So tried eliminating the background screen in most shots.

Regards,
Prashanth

Liked 3rd one. Beautiful pose and nice b/w conversion and sharp.

In others I could feel a little blurr not that sharp as 3rd.

Nice shot. I always have a feeling that the classical dancer looks good in colours.

Thanks Vimal & Amlan for the comments.

Vimal - Yes, many bad shots in whol eevening. lighting was not great and hand-held shots :(

Amlan - I have color shot of all the shots. I worked in color & then simply converted to B&W.

Prashanth

There's a bit of washing out of details in highlights. #3 is very nice but can be recomposed as per rule of thirds.

Prashanth...u did well...it happens in stage photography....In last pic u cud leave more space for her gaze at right. So I feel for 3rd and 4th too. 1st 2 are good attempts....we try that.

Nice series.

Highlights blown out in all pics.
Lights, cameras, glass, empty wallet.

My thoughts echo the others who have noted blown highlights and high contrast in the photos. You have room for improvement.  :)
