is forum compatible with tapatalk
« on: January 25, 2011, 07:07:56 PM »
Hi!!

i wonder if this forum is compatible with tapatalk? ( my wifi is down so cant login from mobile to check)

if not would the admin/owner consider activating it as it's free, and it enables smartphone users to access the forum in an easy way...

thanks.

I would also be very happy if we can access this forum through Tapatalk.

Why just android, I have it in my blackberry, android and it works even in iPhone/iTouch.

I guess you havent used tapatalk..
Tapatalk is a forum friendly app, which lets you access forum in just a few clicks and more importantly you will have a more user friendly(in case of mobile) interface.
This is really a helpful feature for android, and updates comes in real time fashion I guess.
P.S. I used tapatalk in Android handsets

The matter is under evaluation. More details will be forthcoming within a few days.

Hi Gang.

Kartik Mehta, the owner and Administrator of the JJMPF has just advised the Mods that Tapatalk will be implemented on JJMPF sometime in the near future. As I understand it, this may be concurrent with a general software upgrade for the forum at that time.

Happy day.

I don't understand why is he so numb towards this forum? He seem to be quite active on twitter etc. Such an active forum doesn't even have its own decent search option, which is a shame to be very frank.

Hi Guys.

We must keep in mind that Kartik Mehta, the owner and Administrator of this forum, has an actual day job keeping a business enterprise operational and profitable in tough economic times. Further, this forum is a gift from him, paid wholly out of his own pocket, as a free service to all of us in the photographic community.

With such a gift, we work with it as best as we can. Kartik will do what he can for us as his various resources will permit.

As to the point of what has befallen other forums, we are all saddened when any photo interest group's forum collapses. However, and thankfully, it should be noted that this one is approaching a decade of service to photography interested people. It has been a launching pad for many beginners from the time when film was king until the present. That was in no small part due to the high quality people who have come to JJMPF to share what they have learned with the rest of us.

But none of it would have been possible without the selfless generosity and vision of Kartik Mehta.

I agree with you henry. But as Beyond Legacy quoted, the forum should not be taken for granted.
If need be there are many here who know managing websites & they can help pitch it. What irritates me the most is the forum engine itself. Changing it to PhpBB would be good. After that the taptalk implementation can de done.

Hi Guys.

I have reminded Kartik of the Members' interest in Tapatalk. Maybe it will come to pass yet.

+1 for tapatalk.

It just takes less than 10 minutes for admin to install tapatalk module in SMF. Not sure what is holding this.

Gentlemen,

This day the Mods have reminded Kartik of your interest in this useful feature and have asked for a timely decision and some action regarding it.

Thanks. Just wondering, can't mod do it themselves, hopefully one of them has admin rights. You just need to register free, download package from tapatalk website and upload it and all set. We just did it for iPentax forum and it was a breeze.

Mods don't have the rights to make any alterations to the Forum. That right rests exclusively with the Owner, Mr Kartik Mehta.
