Select SR AUTO and be sure to get your shot
In a first for Fujifilm cameras, the FinePix F60fd is equipped with Scene Recognition technology which cleverly detects a scene without the need of pre-selecting the mode on the camera. SR AUTO recognises Night, Landscape. Portrait and Macro scenes.

Simply select SR AUTO and the camera automatically sets the appropriate shutter speed, exposure and white balance to ensure that you get the most of your photography; more stunning pictures with less hassle.

Optical zoom
This new camera features a sharp 3x Fujinon optical zoom lens, (equivalent to 35-105mm on a 35mm camera).
Despite its compact size, there are no compromises with optical clarity and speed of operation. The lens is robust, reliable, and delivers sharp pictures every time.

Fingertip control with our Mode Dial
Ultimate control is at your fingertips with the F60fd’s vertical Mode Dial and streamlined `Graphical User Interface’.The intuitive icon based interface confirms shooting modes, scene positions, or control settings with brief explanations on the LCD screen. Easy-to-read icon and text description of the selected mode help you choose and confirm the optimum setting for best results. This takes much of the guesswork out of digital camera operation. With less to worry about, you'll have more fun with your picture taking!

High resolution LCD screen
The FinePix F60fd features a large high-resolution 3-inch, 230,000 pixel LCD screen, which is coated with Fujifilm's proprietary Wide View film. This minimises glare and reflections, and also enables consumers to view the LCD from any angle (even in sunny conditions), to enable shooting from waist level or above the head, or to make picture playback to a group so much easier.

Face Detection 3.0 – from any angle
The FinePix F60fd is equipped with Face Detection 3.0 technology, which goes one step further by recognising faces at more extreme angles. As with the original version of Face Detection, it can detect up to 10 faces in a scene in as little as 0.036 seconds, automatically correcting focus, exposure, and white balance, regardless of where subjects are located within the frame. Face Detection 3.0 can register faces with up to 90 degree movement in either direction for profiles, and with rotations of up to 360 degrees.

Say goodbye to red eye for good
Once your image has been captured, the system instantly corrects red-eye and then saves both the original and the corrected image file automatically.
The FinePix F60fd red eye removal system is not confused by lips or red coloured jewellery, as some other systems can be, as it works in tandem with Fujifilm's Face Detection system to identify eyes and nothing else. Letting the camera do this retouching is so much quicker and easier than struggling at home with a paintbrush on a PC!

Portrait Enhancer
The FinePix F60fd features 'Portrait Enhancer Mode' designed to transform a snapshot into an exceptional portrait. In this mode the FinePix F60fd's powerful automatic retouching system gives skin tones a silky-smooth texture and removes blemishes such as spots and wrinkles. Once they've seen the beautiful skin tones produced by the Portrait Enhancer, the loved ones in your life will never again hide their faces whenever you get your camera out!

NEW Dual Image Stabilisation
As well as offering class-leading high ISO performance for avoiding subject blur when shooting in low light, the FinePix F60fd also features CCD-shift image stabilisation for avoiding the effects of camera shake at longer shutter speeds. This combination offers a complete system for avoiding blur caused by hand shake or subject motion. Never before have compact cameras offered such a comprehensive solution for avoiding blurred results whilst retaining high-resolution photographic quality.

Making light work of photography
For those occasions when flash is required, Fujifilm's Intelligent Flash system sets the power output to achieve natural foreground illumination with balanced background exposure. Avoiding both the messy background blur of 'slow-sync' flash, and the stark contrast of conventional flash, Intelligent Flash results in visibly more pleasing, natural looking photos. For times when a decision about lighting could mean a missed photo opportunity, the FinePix F60fd's Natural Light plus Flash mode takes two photos in quick succession, one with flash and one without, then displays them side-by-side for instant comparison.

‘A’and ‘S’ modes
For the more advanced user the FinePix F60fd also features Aperture and Shutter Priority modes for total creative control.For those of you that are not familiar with these terms, ‘A’ Aperture-priority and ‘S’ Shutter-priority auto exposure modes let you explore your creativity. Selecting ‘A’ mode adds dimension to your photo by increasing or decreasing the depth of field, while ‘S’ mode allows you to maximise action shots by freezing motion or creating motion blur.

Continuous Shooting Mode
The F60fd allows you to shoot up to 12 frames in a burst* (at 5 frames per second), even if the subject is moving. This fantastic mode therefore gives you 5 times the chance of capturing that one special moment.*at 3MP or lower

Movie Capture
When a still image isn't sufficient, the FinePix F60fd’s movie mode, at 30 frames per second, captures movie clips with sound that are limited in length only by the size of memory card used.

Playback Features, Zoom Up and Cropping
Thanks to Fujifilms proprietary Super CCD technology delivering a stunning 12 megapixel resolution, you are able to crop and enlarge any part of your captured image without experiencing any loss of quality.Once you’ve captured your group portrait you can use the handy ‘Zoom Up’ feature, which allows you to detect faces in playback mode so that you can check them one by one and ensure that you have captured the image as you intended it. If you spy a priceless expression amongst your group portrait that stands out from the crowd, then simply select the built in ‘Cropping’ function, which will allow you to automatically crop and save the selected portrait in the camera.

Micro Thumbnails
The 3-inch LCD screen allows you to view your images comfortably. It displays your pictures in a number of alternative ways and enables you to navigate up to 100 thumbnail images in a 10 x 10 array.

Further to this, a new sort by date system has been added so that you have even more control over how you store and sort your images.

Convenient xD/SD compatibility
The FinePix F60fd features an xD/SD compatible slot, allowing the use of either xD Picture Card, SD or SDHC media to store and transfer your photos.This will give you the flexibility to buy the card you want, use cards from previous cameras, or choose the media that fits with your other desktop devices like laptops, PDAs or card readers.

Internal memory
The FinePix F60fd makes it possible for you to get that picture even if your memory card is full. The 25MB of internal memory built into this compact model ensures that you will never have to miss that special shot.Think of it as your internal insurance policy for photo opportunities. With that said, the main storage for images on the F60fd should be an additional xD card, which will allow you to accommodate almost as many images as you like
